PTA ( picture takers anonymous )

It is an addiction with me. I take way too many pictures of my furbabies. I love to try to get that special picture or the unusual picture that wasn't expected. Pictures say it all. I didn't take enough pictures of my other furbabies, before they passed, as far as I am concerned. And I regret that all the time. Of course, I didn't have a blog back then either. So, SMILE and say CHEESE.

FEEL THE LOVE

Need I say more?

SAFETY FIRST

This is the fence Ugur made to make sure Dixie doesn't squeeze her small self out the gate and right into the street. The baby gate we had was too small for the opening. I think it is really cute and it does the job.

COOL BREEZE

Since it was such a nice day outside we decided to sit in the breezeway. These are just a few pictures.

DYLAN'S 2nd BIRTHDAY

Dylan turns 2 tomorrow. We threw his party today because he just couldn't wait anymore. He got a new bed, a new ball, and had pupcakes (recipe follows).

PEANUT BUTTER, BANANA, CAROB PUPCAKES FOR DOGS

1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil ( I used canola oil)
1 banana, mashed
1/4 -1/2 cup carob chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg

Mix flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased mini muffin tin and bake at 350 degrees for 20- 30 minutes. Can frost with plain fat free yogurt or cream cheese.

Recipe adapted from the doggy birthday cake. I didn't have any carrot so I substituted banana and added carob.

TAYLOR TO A "T"

Well, Taylor has been in kitty cat heaven for a little while now. But, I came across this video and it reminded me so much of him. Funny thing is I have a bat next to my bed. Thank God he didn't think to use it.

DIXIE IS A PIGGY, PIGGY,

While giving Dylan and Dixie a treat, yesterday, I had them in the "wait" mode with the treat out in front of each of them. They both do really good at that. Well, at the "o.k." command Dixie dives for Dylan's treat first (which was a little bigger) than quickly snatches her treat, as well, and runs off. It all happened so fast poor Dylan didn't know what the heck happened. So, needless to say they both got a whole cookie that time.

"PARK" ING

So we went riding around, yesterday, with mom and dad while they ran some errands. When they were finished doing that stuff they took us to the dog park. We got to run around and make new friends. They were all really big but they were nice and it was fun.

BACK TO NEW

Dixie went to the vet today to have her stitches removed from her spay. She is back to her old self now. I am so glad. I worried about her incision everyday.

TSK,TSK,TSK,

Dylan knows he is not supposed to have Dixie's stuffed rabbit. As soon as he seen me coming to get it he rolls over and gives me his sad puppy dog eyes.

3 DAYS LATER

Dixie is doing much better after her surgery. The incision is healing nicely, although, she has some bruising around it. But she has her appetite and is wanting to beat up on Dylan again. We have to limit that, though. I don't want her popping a stitch.

A REALLY "RUFF" DAY

These are the stitches from her surgery.

The day after. She is doing much better.

Her "spay day" present.

Dixie had her surgery yesterday. She was spayed, she had two baby teeth pulled, and she had her microchip put in. Poor thing. She went in about 8:00 a.m. and we picked her up at 6:00 p.m. She hasn't had any food or water all day. She is just laying in her crate. I am sure she is feeling just miserable. It's 9 p.m. and time to try and give her some water and food.

She is doing much better today. She has her appetite back and is walking around some.

We bought her a "spay day" present. It's a really pretty shiny black beaded leash. A dog's version of the little black dress. They had some really pretty colors but I thought the black would match her collars and harnesses. It's from www.fabuleash.com, although, I bought hers from Petco.

ANOTHER GOOD BOOK

This is another good book full of information. Always a good idea to have some reference on hand.

SOCIAL CLIMBER

Sometimes, when we are all downstairs, Ugur and I on our computers and Dylan and Dixie playing around, Dylan decides he needs some alone time and goes upstairs. Knowing that Dixie can't follow. Well, no more. Dixie decided she wasn't done playing so she learned to climb the stairs. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. Although, if I am on my way up she still expects me to carry her like the princess she thinks she is. When I set her at the landing she prances away with her head held high and her little booty wiggling from side to side.

FROZEN BLUEBERRY TREAT FOR DOGS (or people)

Puree blueberries (or any fruit safe for dogs)
fat free plain yogurt

Mix together and freeze in dixie cups or ice cube trays. Can also be eaten soft. Great for those hot summer months.

My dogs love, love, love them.

EASY READ

This was a good book. As the title states, it is filled with tips, tricks, and techniques. It is an easy read. Some stuff you may already know but it validates it. Bonus: it has a dachshund on the cover and a slot you can put your own pet's picture.
