Dixie won the contest for "BEST FASHION SENSE" at our Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital and Resort. This was her entry photo. She makes a mighty cute cowgirl, I think.
Dexter was and will always be so special to me. I miss him so much. He was always my constant companion. He loved his treats and he loved to take rides in the car. He loved to lay in the sunny spot inside or outside. He was the best. R.I.P.1995-2010
HEIDI
Heidi was my sweet little baby girl. I miss her so much. All she ever wanted was to sit in your lap and be loved. Oh! and her treats, too. She would get so excited. She would run back and forth and bark with excitement when she knew she was getting her pumpkin muffin. She also loved her stuffed toys. She would be so happy just squeaking them. R.I.P. 1995-2008
TAYLOR
Taylor a.k.a. Tay Tay. Loves, loves, loves to wake us up in the middle of the night with the cutest little meow to let us know he is ready for his can food. He also loves to rough house with Dylan. He had his favorite tree outside that he loved to climb and his special spot just around the corner from the bird feeder. hmmm. He was the best cat and will be missed. R.I.P. 2007 - 2010
VANESSA
Vanessa was part of a stray litter that was born when I was living at Daddy's after Mama passed away. So I started to care, feed and love them. I can never have too many furbabies. When I moved to Turkey I thought it was best for her to stay at her home since Daddy loved her too. Vanessa always had a little of a mean streak in her ( nothing different from any other cat, though). But, you can't help but love her. She is the last of her litter. Since Daddy's passing she has come to live with us. Vanessa passed away 2013. She was 12 yrs. old. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was such a special girl. R.I.P 2001-2013
DYLAN
Dylan's only mission in life is to seek and destroy any toy he gets. The only thing he hasn't been able to destroy is his basketball. He loves to run around the yard with that. He is very affectionate and loves to be near at all times. His favorite hobby is chasing Taylor around.
DIXIE
Dixie is a red brindle pie bald mini dachshund. She loves to be near at all times. She loves Dylan. She has turned into that "pesky" little sister. But he loves her. If Dylan is under the covers, so is she. If he is out of the covers, so is she. She loves to play fight with him. She loves to give kisses and she loves, loves, loves her treats. She loves her bones and her ball, too.
LOUIE
Aka Screwy Louie, Lou Lou, Louie Louie. He is the newest member of our family. He was found by the highway in Louisiana while we were passing through. He is the most loving, friendliest, happy cat. He loves to jump high up on the furniture. He loves to run around with Dixie. And he loves to eat.
Seymour
Seymour is a bundle of cuteness. We found him in the parking lot of a Burger King. He loves to run around and is very fast.
Sophie
Sophie decided she wanted to live here with us so she camped out on our front porch. She is such a sweet kitty. Very loving. She is about 5 1/2 months old.
PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful. 2. Give me time to understand what you want of me. 3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being. 4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you. 5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me. 6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it. 7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you . 8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak. 9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old. 10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so. Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown.
IF IT SHOULD BE
If it be I grow frail and weak, And pain should wake me from my sleep. Then you must do what must be done. For this last battle can’t be won. You will be sad,I’ll understand. Don’t let your grief then stay your hand. For this day more than all the rest. Your love and friendship stand the test. We’ve had so many happy years. What is to come will hold no fears. You’ll not want me to suffer,so, When the time comes, please let me go. I know in time, you too will see, It is a kindness you do me. Although my tail its last has waved. From pain and suffering, I’ve been saved. Do not grieve that it should be you. Who has to decide this thing to do. We’ve been so close, we two, these years. Don’t let your heart hold any tears.
She was the best cat. She was abandoned at the kennel I worked at in Texas so I took her home. I loved her so much and I miss her. She loved to be cradled. She passed away in 2005.
MY TEXAS CATS
Frannie, Vanessa, Snowball (sisters and brother) Libby and Morris. They were my kitty cat crew.
